Fediverse is a multiplatform space, integrated through Activity Pub protocol. Inclusivity and diversity is the power of fediverse, helping to push back corporate media and expand free Internet.
While Mastodon and other microblogging platforms are de-facto monopolies, they do not cover the whole scope of activity across Fediverse. You will find free and open content published as videos (PeerTube), pictures (Pixelfed), mezoblogging (Friendica) and regular blogging (WriteFreely), let alone event scheduling and coordination (Mobilizone) - to name just a few. All these platform can talk to each other, creating vibrant social fabric. What they cannot - they cannot be connected to LiberaPay profiles on equal rights.
So my kind and heartfelt request is: please do not divide fediverse platforms into "better" and "worse" categories. Make profile connectivity equally available for all, as they are equal in fediverse itself. Make donation funding equally available for a videographer, a translator, photographer and local association, running their own Friendica instance, for a cooperative community, hosting a Pixelfed instance. Not just for Pleroma or Mastodon microbloggers.
How come a user of openly fascist Twitter, or deeply corporate Twitch and YouTube, is privileged over someone who daily co-creates free and open fediverse - only through less popular platform? Let us change it!

Definitely agree here. Mastodon is great but I kinda dislike it due to personal reasons with the Mastodon non-profit org and thus use a Misskey alternative
I'm on https://snug.moe that runs Iceshrimp (which is ultimately a Misskey fork atm, though being rewritten) and can volunteer to test if necessary
I believe the best way to go is a generalised "Fediverse" account, with its all-inclusive icon, and the request checking only Activity Pub compatibility. Except for the icon, it used to work like that, before someone throttled it - see my personal profile, connected to Friendica.
