If you create an exercise and try setting a prerequisite before saving it, it will pull from the garbage node tree. Might be good to pass in an optional arg for channel id

We can do one of two things:

  1. disable setting prerequisites on new content (i.e. hide the tab)
  2. if the content is new, make sure the channel is displayed
