Add Unit Variable to Exercise Logs -- Urgent

I added unit variable to exercise log models and set the deault to 0.
So, whenever the exercise log is generated it fetches the current unit and saves that in exercise log model. Is that approach fine?

But what should be the approach for the preivous data for which I don't have unit information.
