Clicking on "Open KA lite" in GUI produces error message about .bat files #2179
Comments
Hi @kimbfwhite! Thanks for reporting this issue. Is this a fresh install of KA Lite or did you upgrade from a previous installation? |
Hi @aronasorman Thanks for the quick response. This was a fresh install |
I see. This might be fixed in the upcoming release version. Would you be willing to try it out and see if it fixes your problem? You can get it at https://www.dropbox.com/s/pg2i14kwx1bdh9b/KALiteSetup-0.12.0.exe |
Okay I'll give it a go. Should I uninstall the current version from my laptop first? |
Yup, uninstall it first to make sure no bad state gets carried over to the new installation. |
Success! (Though the "Open KA lite" button doesn't seem to work but I just used the local host address) Okay now to figure out how to get isiXhosa videos on here! Thanks @aronasorman! |
Cool! If you can keep testing it, and report any bugs you might find, that would be great and will help improve KA Lite further! |
Will do. Thanks for the awesome work you guys are doing! |
A friend of mine was having this same problem with 0.11.1, and it still happened on 0.12.0. Turns out she had spaces in the user name during installation. Reinstalling with a username that didn't have spaces fixed it. |
Thanks will remember this with future installations |
Expected behaviour: When clicking on "Open KA lite" button in GUI an internet browser window opens up with the KA lite home page.
Current behaviour: An error message pops up that reads "Windows cannot find '.bat'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again"
Notes: • Tried opening the server locally at http://127.0.0.1:8008/ and still no luck
• I am running version 0.11.1 on windows 7 home basic
