Error Trying to Open App for first time on MacOS

I get the attached screenshot error every time I try start the app for the first time on MacOS.

I installed by opening the DMG file, dragging the app to the Applications icon. Then running it from the desktop as well as from the Finder. Both give same error.

I dropped to Terminal and with sudo I tried to manually create the directory but it says it exists already. It looks like some runtime permissions problem that the app does not get.

Anyone that has had this issue or can advise?

And there I seem to have solved my own problem by running this:

sudo chown -R $USER:$GROUP ~/.config

Thanks for posting the solution. To make this issue searchable, the error was "EACCES: permission defined"
