Error syncing older devices after fresh install on a new client #3656
Comments
Hi @hakim89 is it possible that you installed the pre-release version of Joplin on your new device? There was recently an upgrade to the sync target so if you updated one device to the pre-release all your devices will need to be updated. |
Thanks for your reply. I don't see a link in your reply. |
Sorry about that, here is the link. You'll need to take a backup from a device that has all the notes. Remove Joplin from the device that has the pre-release version. And then delete the contents at the sync target. After that you can sync with all your devices (this will delete all your notes, you can also delete everything manually). Then you can restore your notes from a backup and sync to all devices. |
I installed Joplin on a new manjaro Linux machine and synced for the first time. The first sync worked but now all other devices including iOS and another desktop version app are showing this message:
"Error: Sync version of the target (2) does not match sync version supported by client (1). Please upgrade your client"
There's no new version on iOS app store to update to
Environment
Joplin version: 1.0.179
Platform: (prod, linux)
OS specifics: Manjaro
Steps to reproduce
Describe what you expected to happen
Logfile
"Error: Sync version of the target (2) does not match sync version supported by client (1). Please upgrade your client"
Dev Console doesn't show any errors
