Blocking / muting sound from some of the streams

When I run mac, I find that many apps can make sound. For example, I may have chrome, edge, safari and firefox browsers playing youtube videos. In such case, I would like some of the apps be muted and don't make any sound in my output device. One example of output device is vb audio cable for mac. In Windows , it is easy to turn off streams from its volume mixer. But mac does not have it.
Can backgroundMusic app for mac make the same enhancements? Muting most apps quickly so that the user can pick the one he wants.

After checking the app again, it does allowed changing the volume to 0, instead of changing it t0 Left or right.
But there are so many apps in the list. Best if it can be toggle all on/off quickly.
Another enhancement to it may be to display which apps is making sound. You can't see which app is currently making sound in backgroundMusic. (In Window OS, you can see it easy and clearly)
