e.g. many of the uris in here are already dead, let alone things like
/bazel and /ci-cross not existing in gs://k8s-release-dev

there is a new GCS bucket for artifacts that is missing some of these paths:
https://console.cloud.google.com/storage/browser/k8s-release-dev

  • search in this repository
  • replace /ci-cross or /bazel with /ci
  • use example paths such as k8s-release-dev/ci/<version>/bin/linux/amd64

we should also remove ci-cross from here:
https://github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/blob/master/cmd/kubeadm/app/util/version.go#L46

it no longer works:
https://dl.k8s.io/ci-cross/latest.txt
