Pluginator uses api's Provenance module, so if you build it any time since we improved provenance info in Kustomize, it uses the metadata shown in this PR. We could modify it to embed real timestamp / git version info, but that would cause a diff whenever the contributor regenerating the plugins built Pluginator from a different sha (so, most of the time anyone runs that make command). Figuring out how to get around this (pin pluginator's installation to the SHA of its own directory?) is out of scope for this PR, which is in the way of releasing.
