Does this mean support for OTR or something different?

I'm actually evaluating two options now. First one is OTR, second is some non-standard implementation, for example the one used in GoldBug/FireFloo. Not sure if the second one is even remotely possible on Symbian though.

Interesting. Is there some kind of comparison of them or a list of features? The security feature list of firefloo for example does not really help, for example.

There isn't any official comparison, both things are quite different, but there are some key things that have to be considered. I don't wanna bother you with details.

Echo enables people to adjust the keys etc. manually, while OTR doesn't. It's also is quantum resistant and also supports multiple layers of encryption. Key exchange procedure also has some mechanisms which prevent possible MitM attacks.

I'm also considering it for the sake of compatibility too.
