Assuming it is short for numerator in the same way DENOM is short for denominator, it should be NUM, not NOM.

NUM could be confused for number so a slight misspelling to keep it short and clear makes sense to me

Makes sense, it should me NUM just me that copy/pasted from the initial error to everywhere.
Buuut, I'm also lazy so I think it'll stay as NOM.

Maybe users will think about eating cookies while they use fugit. :D
