I wanted to port some of my workflow from https://github.com/ldelossa/way-shell to Yabai.
I started a tightly integrated HammerSpoon Spoon which integrates Yabai into the native MacOS desktop a bit better.
Just hacked this up over the last two days, so it may not be perfect, but think its a solid start.
