We need a bot reaction that allows moderators to delete messages. :botdelete:. I'm thinking that two moderators will need to give the reaction for it to be deleted. And after the first reaction, it posts in this channel to let people know that a moderator is proposing a message to be deleted and quotes the contents of the message here (for our own records).

I like the idea, but I have my doubts about its effectiveness. Deleting messages is not something I take lightly. So when we do need to remove a message, should we need to wait for that second mod? What if it is truly shocking material and takes a while for them to come online / notice?
I think it would be unlikely this would be a problem. The bot can @-mention the moderator role so folks would be notified. We have enough people around the globe that someone will likely be available to review and confirm deletion. Also, moderators do have the ability to delete messages manually for emergency situations like this.
This would just be a formal way to delete messages with an "audit trail" and a way to solicit feedback when someone's uncertain deletion is warranted.
