Less CPU. More Safety

A few users reported random crashes that could be related to OctoPrint Anywhere plugin. Although it's hard to pinpoint if/where OctoPrint Anywhere caused the crashes, I took the extra caution to make the code more robust.
A bonus for this optimization is that now the plugin uses less CPU than it did before.
