Have fixed these to conform to KA customs. If TN customs are indeed different, separate events may need to be created.

Will look into it... Sarasvati Puja = Mahanavami in TN... Avahanam is done on Mula nakshatra (in some households at least).

So changes are made unilaterally as per Karnataka customs and Tamil Nadu people have to make their own efforts?

If there is a point of difference noted then it should be discussed first. I thought this was a common repository to try to cater to all Bharatiya requirements. When you yourself realise that there may be varying traditions among regions it's not nice to make the main event as per one region by yourself and ask others to take care of their own needs.

This is correct.

When you yourself realise that there may be varying traditions among regions

I think there is some misunderstanding here ...
Only the preexisting Ayudha-pUja event was changed from dashamI to navamI; otherwise, entirely new events were added (please refer to https://github.com/jyotisham/adyatithi/commits/master ).
I thought it's fairly uncontroversial - is TN practice really different here?
Other than that, I fail to see what I've broken.

If there is a point of difference noted then it should be discussed first. ...

This is good in general. However, these changes were made around saptamI during the festival itself; and it wouldn't do for the urge to act to pass. Even otherwise, given the sparse contributions and infrequent interactions; and given the trust amongst the contributors (contrast wikipedia!), I feel that an "action first, discussion later" is better. Inaction is the bane of progress in such "hobby" projects. In fact, even if it occasionally triggers a surprised demand for rollback, I consider it positive.

it's not nice to make the main event as per one region by yourself and ask others to take care of their own needs.

this is inevitable - and even desirable ... Obviously TN folks are more knowledgeable than me with regards to TN practices .... Once diverse contributions drop in, they can be reconciled/ harmonized.

Made Ayudha-pUjA timing relative to prathamA (else would be off by 1 this year).
Wonder if the tArodaya-dashamI timing for vijaya-dashamI was also a hack to ensure that the 10th day is celebrated, rather than 10th tithi ! Fascinating how this time 10 tithis lasted more than 240 hours.
Closing this since it seems resolved.

Also, "those desirous of obtaining knowledge must not teach, learn or write anything!" - is this backed up actual vidhi or is it just some local custom https://github.com/jyotisham/adyatithi/blob/master/devatA/shakti/lunar_month/nakshatra/07/19/sarasvatI-AvAhanam.toml ?

I believe there is no hard constraint on number of days.. I believe there have been even 7-day navaratris and def'ly 8-day navaratris. Tarodaya dashami - I believe there is a vakyam - will find and add. @jamadagni may be able to help!

I think most people follow vAkya panchangas, hence they are all celebrating today. As per available vAkyas, it does seem that sarasvatI pUjA is on Saturday, Vijayadashami (Aparajita Puja/Shami Puja) is also on Saturday, and Vidyarambha is on Sunday (Dashami at sunrise - need to add a festival).
