If your windows is up to date this should work fine I agree that the version specs are rather confusing and I also would not be sure if your system would work from that description. The versions are quite specific, so maybe @DaphneMuller can tell if people running previous versions has been an issue in the past or if we could rather just put something like "latest windows 10/11" in the docs to avoid confusion. A also didn't find something on a quick google search regarding the build history of windows (to figure out if 22H2 (Build 19045.5011 is newer then 20262), 20262 seems like a tech preview version.
That is one or the other. So in summary, have windows 10 or 11 on the latest release. |

Hi, I want to contribute to the desktop client repo and on my way to setting things up I got confused with the tutorial for installing the nextcloud developer environment on windows.
In the first step
( https://cloud.nextcloud.com/s/iyNGp8ryWxc7Efa?dir=undefined&path=%2F1%20Setting%20up%20a%20development%20environment%2FTutorial%20for%20Windows&openfile=7087340 ),
the first bullet point tells me to ensure that my windows build version is 20262+. However, my system shows me it is on version 22H2 (Build 19045.5011).
I searched for updates, downloaded them, restarted my system, but it didn't increase.
I do not know what I am doing wrong. Do I really have to have Build 20262+ in order to use the developer environment?
But then, in the following bullet points it states that I should have Windows 10 64-bit: Home or Pro 21H1 (build 19043) or higher, or Enterprise or Education 20H2 (build 19042) or higher, which I have.
So is the first bullet point now not necessary?
I am new to developing so please excuse any stupidity in my message.
Thanks in advance!
