Describe the bug
When reading from a pipe, the command sometimes fails.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

  1. Run jpp '$.paths[*]~' openapi.json|jpp --pretty '$[0:99:2]'

Expected behaviour
The above example should pipe the output from jpp to another of itself. The second call fails to read from the output of the first.
