On version 0.4.2, I didn't find a way to open the original article.

The title of the article can be clicked (it flashes when clicked) but I would expect the original article to be opened in a web browser.

This is odd and a bug, clicking on the title should open the article in your default browser. I will need to have a look at it, thanks for reporting.

Hm, I'm not sure why this is not working for you but I can't replicate it, every time I press on the title the default browser opens and shows the article there. Could you provide more information, for example which version of Firefox OS, which hardware you use, etc.

I am using a ZTE Open C running a custom built 2.1 version of Firefox OS. Version 2.2 has the same issue.

When pressing the article title a browser opens with the following URL : app://{0857483a-c0bd-48dc-ad76-81fec9bcb02e}/undefined
I get the following error
2014-10-27-13-58-58

Let me know what other information you might need (log, ...)

Oh I see, hm I only used it with Firefox OS 1.1 yet, I will check in the simulator when I have the time, thanks for reporting it.

It seems there has been some deep changes in the browser between 2.0 and 2.1. For instance the browser does not have "bookmarks" anymore. If you want to mark a page, you must pin it to your home page. I remember FeedMonkey working very well in 1.3.
