To prevent different kind of migrations, when migrating WI's from SCRUM template based project areas to SAFe P+T template based project areas, it should be possible for the template admin to define a standard mapping.

End user should get this standard mapping as first choice when they move WI's. Defining a custom mapping should be advanced.

Interesting idea. I think there is no easy to implement this out of the box, as there is no indication on whether the used project area process template is a Standard SCRUM, SAFe or Formal Process template. It becomes really difficult if the processes are customized, even if only a little I would have (as far as I know) no clue what kind of template is used.

The only place I know of to let an Admin define configuration values are the Advanced Properties. It might be possible to store some basic configuration there, but the more to put there the less readable it is and the UI is cumbersome if you want to put extensive configuration there.
If there is a way to read a configuration file from the file system, with a path that can be configured through the Advanced Properties, then this would be a considerable option.

Within the advanced Properties, we could create a definition of an URL or a file path on the server pointing to a config file.

The URL could be read Client side. A File could be read by the java server side extension.

Both seems for me feasible.
