Discovery requirements and parameters

Requirements

• ~100k validators, ~100k static nodes (?), 1024 shards
• Nodes should be able to find peers both in the global set and in their shards
• Validators in particular should be able to find online peers in any given shard quickly
• Validators should be "hidden", i.e. their current shard should not be public

Simulation parameters

• Node lifetime
• Validator jump interval
• Network size
• Whatever parameters the protocol has

Observe

• Time evolution of number of relevant peers
  • After joining for the first time
  • After switching to a new shard
  • After crash of some fraction of the network
• Number of messages exchanged (less important)
