The Remarkable application is using code from Meld (specifically remarkable/findBar.py) that's licensed as GPLv2+, but the licence of Remarkable is MIT. In other words, Remarkable is currently violating the GPL. This has already been brought up in #246, but that was closed without explanation.
I assume that the original addition was an innocent mistake, and licensing is hard! However, ignoring licensing issues is also not really okay. Please consider either removing the code in question or re-licensing Remarkable to GPL v2 or later.
Alternatively, if someone wants to do the legwork of getting permission to relicense the code in question, please feel free. I'm probably willing to agree to a BSD-style license for this file, as is (informally) the original author. However, there's several other contributors who would need to be contacted for permission.
