Describe the bug
The problem is already addressed here : some-of-my-pages-have-january-1-0001-as-the-last-modified-date but the solution does not work.

For example the page CJK + Latex Support page shows "Last updated Unknown".
If yo Uppercase any file name, the last update does not work.

Also emoji in filenames don't render but that might be due to hugo.

Thanks for looking into it.
Uppercase filenames works, I was managing content separate from quartz repo as a submodule but gitinfo in hugo does not work wit submodules hugo issue.
I had to add file to quartz repository git index to get info, which is problematic as I don't want to make history of files public by adding them to git index. I would rather serve just the files on the website and keep the content private.

I am a beginner to hugo, I am curious as why not to use quartz as a submodule in themes rather than forking. It would allow to keep content separate from the quartz.

As for emoji, the links don't render if there is emoji in filename or path but that might be due to hugo.

Thank you for quartz and feel free to close this.
