hello guys, i would like to check with you if possible to add AV1 support to ion-SFU.
i have post similar request in Pion here - pion/webrtc#1670.

explaining that i'm using AV1 on chrome for almost a year...now, and missing it badely with latest ion-sfu which force me to downgrade into less efficient VP8 codec usage.

kindly advise if this might be interested for community to use amazing ion-SFU with modern and latest codec such AV1 which is both stable and much higher performancer than older VP8/9/264...

Best!

Hello @dannymn, support for AV1 should be straight forward, if you can contribute to detect the keyframes we can include it, we have not yet invested on it because its lack of support on other browsers.

hi @OrlandoCo hope all well.
perhaps it is good time to raise AV1 support to ion-sfu. AV1 codec used widely by chrome (&opera) both PC & Mobile devices.
also similar cool solutions based on Pion such livekit + Galene + plugNmeet supporting AV1 for quite some time already, i would be very happy and thankfull if ion-sfu may also benefit usage of much more modern codec like AV1 which consume less BW w/ greater quality, hence give better result over time. I do belive other ion-sfu users like myself will also appriciate anyone who can contribute here. many thanks!
