• with upcoming (now) OGCAPI effort by the major players geospatial industry, cloud-native infrastructure and standards will be leveraged by many ODIS partners
• STAC is a critical part of the OGCAPI (for querying features etc)
• STAC catalogues (JSON, lightweight and queryable) will most likely be one of the most-used methods by partners in the upcoming future/now
• ODIS must provide a path for partners that run with STAC, such as:
  • enhance the ODIS graph to support existing STAC catalogues
  • add a section in the ODIS book for partners to follow who have STAC catalogues

Reinvigorating this with potential implementation with ODATIS-linked efforts (France) and Argo, both of which run STAC for us to test mappings and converters.

Objectives:

• IODE's ODIS services should be able to harvest and convert STAC metadata into ODIS-Arch (JSON-LD/schema.org) compliant records for integration into the ODIS Knowledge graph
• It is still preferred that the ODIS Node does any conversions their side, but we can help generate and maintain a converter, if it's not already native in STAC tooling
• IODE's ODIS services should consider a STAC product, which will be a subset of the richer metadata we gather, but can help ecosystem traversal
