shrI dAmodara has offered to do this and more. This issue will track that contribution.

Ok, thanks dAmodara! Wonderful work overall! This is perhaps the best dictionary we've produced (page number references and all!). I disagree with the need to have separate numbered devanAgarI headwords - but your solution works and does not inconvenience users, so that's cool.

The one deficiency is that when the source changes (pe.txt is updated), we have to search for another dAmodara to update the dictionary - there is no computer code which, given pe.txt, will produce this dictionary. If you can somehow remove that as well, that would be great!

Regardless, its time to submit this to the world of sanskrit loving hindus. (will do so in a new email cc-ed to you)

Be a bit careful with the filenames, @damooo . That way my scripts which produce the final tar files won't fail. For example, the babylon file should have been named exactly as the folder is named (purANa-encyclopedia). Further, since your babylon file already has all the headwords, it should be named: purANa-encyclopedia.babylon_final. (fixed these and updated the repository..)

But somehow, goldendict on my ubuntu laptop is not showing purANa-encyclopedia entries. Any idea why?

Same observation on goldendict paid on my phone.

But I got it! You've put the following lines on the top of purANa encyclopedia babylon file:

#stripmethod=keep
#sametypesequence=h
#bookname=పారిభాషిక పదకోశం
#వందనాలు : అమ్మకి

Can you please correct this?

bad word errors

I also had the same error today. It turned out that the word was blank. Maybe that would have been the error here.
Line number of stardict-editor presumes that there is no new line in the definition.
