It would be desirable to have the utilities to generate the (economical) orthogonal/unitary Q from the reflectors generated by geqrf. Is this on the roadmap?

We haven't planned it. Currently we use unmqr with the identity matrix. ungqr does essentially the same thing but has optimizations where it knows it is multiplying a zero block in the identity.

BTW, SLATE always uses the unmqr name, even in the real case.
