Most Insteon devices allow the user to perform a factory reset to delete all links by performing a particular sequence using the physical set button on the device and simultaneously cycling power (one exception is the OutletLinc which has an alternate procedure that does not require a power-cycle). Factory resets are useful when repurposing devices, trying to solve network or linking issues, and when preparing devices for resale.

In some cases, performing this action on the device locally may be difficult, for example, on In-LineLincs that are installed inside of walls, DIN rail devices which may be difficult to access, or FanLincs which are typically installed high up inside of the fan cowling. One device in particular, the BulbLinc (LED Bulb) has no set button at all and can only be reset (according to the manual) by removing all of the links via software.

There are a few mentions of such a command in the following documents, but support may be device specific. Testing will have to confirm which devices support this and which do not.

Some initial discussion on this topic is contained in Issue #315, from which this feature request originated.

One small mention here that indicates that it may not be possible: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6984
