daaang 50/50. yeah.. i've got gripes against both too... anyway, closing this, as i've just nearly-finished created my own, a heavily-customized version of aura, and two ports of the original aura theme, all of which i prefer over both of these themes, and are purply. pray it goes through🙏 |

i initially used 'default' for plain text files, digged the funky purple (it's my fav color 😃), but then when editing code, found boo berry to just be an absolute upgrade, particularly for it's less contrast. The main issue with 'default' being, the main common text in code is (eye-)strainfully bright, but also the background color's contrast, and other colors' contrasts', all just make it feel a bit messy...
i understand changing a theme is as easy as
:theme
! But, you know, let's make the first appearance good!i chose booberry, because it's really the only polished purple theme, which matches helix's web-site. But also, i've used it long enough to know it works great, from crap chromebook to oled screens. It's one of the rare few (only a handful do this) that works particularly well with transparent backgrounds, because there's a background color to keep it from going too transparent. I've went through all the themes many times, there's just nothing close, until i port aura. :)
