CTRL-C quits GHCi session if started with 'cabal repl' #1640

When I start GHCi via 'cabal repl' and then press CTRL-C in the GHCi session, GHCi quits. When I start GHCi manually then CTRL-C only quits evaluation of a Haskell expression. I prefer the latter behaviour and consider the former one a bug.
I am running Linux.
