Description

Please add a new data source for an existing event hub, in addition to the existing resource that creates eventhub resource in namesapce.

New or Affected Resource(s)

  • azurerm_eventhub

Potential Terraform Configuration

data "azurerm_eventhub" "test" {
  name                           = "test-rule"
  namespace_name        = "eventhub-ns"
  resource_group_name = "eventhug-rg"
}

This is required for
resource "azurerm_monitor_diagnostic_setting" "test-diagnostic" {
name = "test-diagnostic"
target_resource_id = azurerm_kubernetes_cluster.test.id
eventhub_name = azurerm_eventhub.test.name
eventhub_authorization_rule_id = azurerm_eventhub_namespace_authorization_rule.test.id
...

Here eventhub resource can be in same/different resource group for azurerm_monitor_diagnostic_setting.

This has been released in version 2.10.0 of the provider. Please see the Terraform documentation on provider versioning or reach out if you need any assistance upgrading. As an example:

provider "azurerm" {
    version = "~> 2.10.0"
}
# ... other configuration ...

data source azurerm_eventhub doesn't export name attribute. Name attribute is required for following resource. e.g:

resource "azurerm_monitor_diagnostic_setting" "test-diagnostic" {
name = "test-diagnostic"
target_resource_id = azurerm_kubernetes_cluster.test.id
eventhub_name = azurerm_eventhub.test.name
eventhub_authorization_rule_id = azurerm_eventhub_namespace_authorization_rule.test.id
..
