Description

Since May, 25, 2021 Azure supports spark 3.0 clusters. As far as I see this can be supported in the resource azurerm_synapse_spark_pool by adding 3.0 in the validation here

New or Affected Resource(s)

  • azurerm_synapse_spark_pool

Potential Terraform Configuration

resource "azurerm_synapse_spark_pool" "this" {
  name                 = "my_spark_pool"
  synapse_workspace_id = "my_synapse_workspace_id"
  node_size_family     = "MemoryOptimized"
  node_size            = "Large"
  spark_version        = "3.0"
}

This has been released in version 2.61.0 of the provider. Please see the Terraform documentation on provider versioning or reach out if you need any assistance upgrading. As an example:

provider "azurerm" {
    version = "~> 2.61.0"
}
# ... other configuration ...
