The Record Clearance Project:
Problem: Having a criminal record can be a barrier to getting a job, education, housing and more. While millions of convictions and arrests in CA can legally be cleared by filing a petition, this process is time-consuming and often requires legal help.

Solution: The Record Clearance Project has partnered with local expungement clinics and legal experts to build digital tools to help applicants clear their own records. We are making a Personal Statement Generator web app to make the petition process easier and faster.

Impact: This tool can save time and allow clinics to clear more records. There are hundreds of thousands of California residents that could benefit from clearing their record.
