Overview

We need a guide to how to make recommendations for Hack for LA volunteers/interns so that there is a defined process that is easy to follow

Details on metrics

We will be asking on intake:

  • how confident they are in how to ask for a recommendation
  • How many recommendations do you ask for per engagement
  • What percent of people you ask say yes

  • Review brand voice and check all the language in your doc to make sure it complies - See our analysis of our brand voice logo, color pallet , typography, branding initial work #68 (comment)
  • Under procedure, replace negative instruction with positive goal oriented in title
  • write some sample emails of ways you could approach the person
    • Catch up
    • An email asking if they would be willing to review the items you have already written and want to past to your linkedin profile.
    • if they offered to be you mentor already, ask for when would be a good recurring time on their schedule

Way you can word this on your resume:
Before results are in: Created guidance for Interns and performed initial usability testing to determine viability of self-help process.

After results are in: Created guidance for Interns and performed initial usability testing to determine viability of self-help process, which resulted in an A percent increase in confidence, X percent increase in requests and Y percent increase in positive responses.

look again at the voice and figure out how to check all of the wording against each of the attributes in the voice.

@ExperimentsInHonesty I'v been struggling with editing the doc -- espcially trying to align with our internship brand voice. It would be extremely helpful and better if we could possibly have a ux writer or someone that can revise or edit our document.
