Overview

We need to decide at what points in the gather examples workshops we want to survey participants for feedback.

Action Items

  • Review sections of the presentations to identify what subjects we want to separate the survey by (ex. all of GitHub, or GitHub - wiki, GitHub - issues, etc.)
  • Create a list of all sections for survey
  • Customize research survey for Gather Examples Workshop
  • If needed, create more surveys or modify

May have to slightly reword the survey to work for the parts of the presentations that are about soft skills (ex. reaching out to people on slack)

Add questions on if they will be coming to the next workshop, if not please explain
Do they understand how to make guides?
Will they be doing work between sessions?
Talking people in the channel we will set up for them

Next workshops can start with debrief of what they did
Do they intend to finish? This way we can separate folks from know up front why they won't get the work done from folks who hit roadblocks

Go back retroactively to see how much they finish between sessions

Need a research team + data science team to go through all of the data

  • research team gets involved after the second meeting, looks at their issues and note in chart where they get to
  • need to know if we're going too fast in the workshop
  • monitor if they finished their work from the week prior (new form), if not, why?
