Bernard's Checklist

• Start with guidelines first
• Move to spacing color and basic accessibility (keyboard navigation, color/contrast)
• Then UI Components and finish with design tokens
• Develop SSOT (Single Source of Truth) components as well

• Start with Figma setup, design principles, accessibility guidelines.
• Move to decision tree - do they have a design system, yes or no? (This question is not so black/white)
  • Move to foundations checklist, components, how to decide what components to include?
  • Move to advanced checklist from there after foundations are built, includes identity

• Should Nathan Curtis' exercise be used to help decide what is necessary for a particular team?
• How are we measuring DS?
  • Some teams may not need a design system, need to figure out what is necessary for every team
• Depending on maturity level of team they could need
  • Style guide, brand guidelines, pattern library, components library
    Open Questions
• How to define what the maturity level of each team? PM vs. Designers may have a very different understanding/skill level
• How can we actually measure the maturity?
• How can we evaluate each measurement as it will be different for each team?
• How to be quantitative measuring Figma file?
