Maybe we can create a "balanced" question (see example in hackforla/product-management#7 of the article below) to quantify 5 interest levels for our findings (e.g. "Would you be interested in getting more involved in community efforts? a. Very interested b. Interested c. Neither interested nor uninterested d. Uninterested e. Very uninterested"). "Please explain why" could be the following question for more depth.

@jenny-gih Bonnie will share survey with Julien. She suggests cover picture be customized to Access the Data (aka don't use the picture from Hack for LA)

@lrchang2 I spoke to Julien. they will put a link for us into the newsletter. We need to write the text and they can't tell us when the deadline is because right now its very unpredictable.

Hi @lrchang2 @abryant35 @ExperimentsInHonesty
I created 3 variations of a recruitment message / flyer for people to take the survey in case Julien can use it in the newsletter. See link in issue description above. Let me know if you want me to make any changes.

Great idea, I've put the variations in a word doc and updated the link above for your review. Thanks!

@jenny-gih I added a comment to the document. The graphics are awesome looking,! We will need language that provides context about the project to go into the Empower.la newsletter.

@melissamurphy Please add update using this template

Progress: "What is the current status of your project? What have you completed and what is left to do?"
Blockers: "Difficulties or errors encountered."
Availability: "How much time will you have this week to work on this issue?"
ETA: "When do you expect this issue to be completed?"
Pictures: "Add any pictures of the visual changes made to the site so far."

If you need help, be sure to either:

ask for help at your next meeting
put a "Status: Help Wanted" label on your issue and pull request
put up a request for assistance on the #access-the-data channel.

reopening to send out survey to EmpowerLA newsletter 12/20.

URL for past newsletters: http://tiny.cc/NCnewsletters

requirements for section in newsletter per Department of Neighborhood Empowerment's Public Information Officer, Ann-Marie

"Images for the newsletter are 1200px wide. We use three heights: 800px, 675px (which is a 16:9), and 400px. Custom shortlinks would be great to have, for your sign up forms. If there is text in the image, any san serif titling font will work.

Is this news for NC members only, or for the general public? If it's open to the public, it will help to have versions of content with visible links so that they can be used on Nextdoor. "

image we are planning on using: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VWA7Lj8jIxE78P85A1LhcZeW9FsXEaWv/view
need to check to see if it fits the dimension requirements

blurb for newsletter that needs reviewing:

"Hack for LA's Access the Data team is working in partnership with EmpowerLA to create an accessible data resource website within the LA community.

We are looking for participants to share their experiences interacting with open source data, regardless of level of expertise. We want to understand how people are currently navigating the system to make changes in their community. Please help us fill out this survey to help us serve you better.

The survey takes only 2 minutes to complete and will solely be used for our research.

made a copy of screener survey to add extra question for Lucky Parking's UXR team.

"Or you could also add this question as the second question in Community Involvement Questions section
If you indicated involvement in any LA local communities such as non-profit, volunteering, council, school organization, please indicate organization and title (optional)"

Lucky Parking's blurb addition:

I think we could have the blurb align with the data access. We want to understand how people current navigate the system to make changes in their community.

added Lucky Parking's Lead UX Researcher, Kiki - [email protected] to survey
