gulpfile.babel.js much slower than commonjs gulpfile not using babel #1188

We've found that parsing a gulpfile that is authored in babel takes much longer than a gulpfile authored in common js. Especially on older machines.

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about this. You can try opening an issue on the babel tracker for performance.
