February 14-16, 2017 in Tahoe

An invitation-only think tank for open source software and collaborative development thought leaders to convene, share best practices and learn how to manage the largest shared technology investments of our time.

Linux Foundation is emerging as a major player in funding open source. Their budget has grown from $5M to $65M in the past 7 years:

As a founding executive team member of the Linux Foundation, I develop and execute a long-range vision, while building multiple profitable product lines and organically growing the organization from $5M to $65M in 7 years.

I wasn't able to connect with anyone there during #867. This event is invite-only. It's possible to request an invite, and there is also a CFP. There's no price listed, except for a US$250 no-show fee. If you have to ask, you can't afford it. Speakers, though?

Complimentary Passes For Speakers

In the instance that your submission has multiple presenters, only the primary speaker for a proposal will receive a complimentary pass for the event. For panel discussions, all panelists will receive a complimentary event pass.

And "Sustainability" is a suggested topic.

I'm thinking about pitching something like "Evolving Empathy in the Firm."

Author and social thinker Jeremy Rifkin asks, "Can we reach biosphere consciousness and global empathy in time to avert planetary collapse?"

I think I'm going to take a pass on this. I want to keep hacking!

On the strength of this article wherein Gratipay's standing in the enterprise open source world is called attention to (and it feels like "Heck yeah! Let's do more of that!"), I've pinged an acquaintance about the possibility of helping procure an invite to this conference.
