opt out of receiving tips #114

+1 from @sigmavirus24 via twitter. |
Thanks for updating this for me. |
@sigmavirus24, @jacobian, @toastdriven: Does the new "I am not here to receive tips. I'll generally regift them" go far enough here? http://blog.gittip.com/post/27068825269/introducing-personal-funding-goals |
👍 Looks good to me! |
@whit537 - it's not exactly what I'd do, but it's certainly close enough for me. It communicates the intent ("I'm here to tip, not to be tipped"), and that's the important part as far as I'm concerned. 🍰 ✨ thanks! |
Perhaps people with this selected option should not show on the unclaimed list? |
@chrismdp Well, by definition if they've gotten far enough to set a funding goal, they've already "claimed their account," in the parlance. I hope to modify the homepage leaderboard now that funding goals exist (#147). @sigmavirus24 and @jacobian Thank you for the thumbs up and sparkle cake! I have never received sparkle cake before. :D |
@whit537 It's particularly delicious, isn't it? |
:-O |
Har! |
Sorry to burst your collectively decided bubbles, but I feel you need the option to at least effectively disable your account. Otherwise, it feels like lock-in, and I don't like that from anyone, no matter how much I like the service. So I'd like this as originally stated or #54 be implemented. @whit537 would you mind re-opening this? (I don't have permission to do so). If you will not add this feature, please disable my account manually. I don't like being signed up for services where I can't disable or remove my account through an automated method, and would not have signed up had I been aware that that option wasn't available. I apologize if I sound harsh, that's not my intent here. I just strongly object to being unable to disable my account to any extent (the approach here doesn't really count, IMO, but I believe is worth keeping because at least some people -- myself included -- use it). |
@duckinator Sorry, just catching up on ticket backlog now and seeing your message for the first time. Let's pick this up on #54. |
Reticketing from #61.
@jacobian and @toastdriven want to be part of the site but don't want to receive tips, just want to give. See also #110 for a possible solution to this.
