It looks like it isn't registering.

So, this element (inside a <paper-action-dialog/>):

<paper-autogrow-textarea id="edit-notes-autogrow" rows="5" target="[object HTMLTextAreaElement]">
  <textarea placeholder="Notes" id="edit-notes" name="edit-notes"></textarea>
</paper-autogrow-textarea>

when I call

a1 = document.querySelector("html /deep/ #edit-notes-autogrow");
t1 = document.querySelector("html /deep/ #edit-notes");
a1.update()

I get

Uncaught TypeError: a1.update is not a function.

This occurs even if I manually call Polymer.forceReady().

I get the same error even when the autogrow is inserted into the DOM programmatically.
