A sweet, minimal implementation of Vim Surround would be to implement commands like S( to a visual mode selection. (Replace S with something else, if you want to keep its current meaning.)

was just thinking. isn't surround used to replace parentheses, quotes, etc.? coz you can do your S( with only an extra letter: vab.
