Making errors more user friendly #34

Currently errors in the software generate a stack trace and cause the software to crash suddenly. A stack trace is unfamiliar to our intended audience. We should try to catch all errors and print a readable error message that explains there was an error, recommends relaunching the software, and provides instructions on how to contact the maintainers if the error reoccurs.
