We've been using Gazebo-classic to generate thumbnails for Fuel models:

gzserver -s libModelPropShop.so blank.world --propshop-save thumbnails --propshop-model path/to/model.sdf

It would be good to start creating those with Ignition, so we can show PBR materials.

I believe @luca-della-vedova has started on a prototype for this.
