Provided we uncover no major issues in QA that require additional time to sort out, we should disseminate a pre-release announcement through the usual channels on October 16, 2018:

  • SecureDrop.org blog
  • Support portal members
  • Twitter

We need to emphasize that this release will enforce a preference for a more recent kernel (#3842) and that manual testing of affected instances is absolutely critical to avoid downtime.
