Feature: Switch focus to Files when using win+e #10844
Comments
I think it only pops to foreground when it's first opened, not when there is already an open window. |
What happens if you toggle the default file manager option off and back on? |
@hecksmosis So it is not implemented yet, and this issue should be tagged as a feature request? The Windows built-in explorer has this feature, maybe Files as an alternative should also support it. |
@yaira2 I already tried when posting this issue, didn't solve the problem |
I don't know to that extent this should be considered a bug @yaira2 |
It's a feature request 👍 |
Thank you for reporting this issue, this seem to be an issue in WinAppSdk microsoft/microsoft-ui-xaml#7595, but there are probably workarounds we can try. |
Description
I have Files as my default file explorer. If an active Files window is in the background, when I press
Win + E
there will be no visual reactions, since Files opens a new tab silently. Also, if Files is called by another program (e.g. "open in folder" in my browser downloads), it also doesn't automatically goes to foreground.Steps To Reproduce
Win + E
Steps to fix
When
Win + E
is pressed, make Files pop up to foreground if there's an active Files window.Files Version
