Every mention of cd Fooocus should be replaced with Fooocus-ControlNet-SDXL or the clone should be to a folder with a more readable name (or just change the repo name for that matter)

This is what confused me when reading the guide, are we just cd'ing into the Fooocus directory from lllyasviel's repo, as the instructions seem to suggest, or is this completely separate from lllyasviel's fooocus as an application?

This is basically like a copy of the original fooocus with some changes. So yes, this is completely separate.
