Camera out of focus, manual focus menu not showing up #507

I'm using a galaxy J6 2016. Camera works but it's always out of focus, and when I activate the manual focus option, the menu shows up in the camera preview for less than half a second and then disappears. I'm running Octo4a 2.1.0 but with an older bootstrap version selected from the installation menu.
