“I am a little bit confused about how to create the beginning cash on hand.  The way I thought you create the cash on hand, it prepopulated the Mid-Year report without me selecting the (MY) report.

These are the steps I took to create the beginning cash on hand:

  1.  I first click on the created report button.
  2. Then I realize I didn't create my beginning cash on hand.
  3. I left that view window and clicked on the "tools" button.
  4. Then a box popped up "Update cash on hand" I clicked it.
  5. Then line 6a appeared with information.
  6. I typed in new amount.
  7. Then click on "Update line 6a button.
  8. In the report view section the Mid-Year report appeared without me selecting it.

Why did it prepopulate the MY report?  That is not the report I wanted to create.”

Unable to upload screenshot showing reports table:

If the former, agreed expected behavior. If the latter, that’s not expected behavior, and we’ll want to see if we can reproduce it by overriding COH when there are no existing reports.

I have tested that if I just click this button but don’t create a report and then go to cash on hand, a report is not created, which is expected behavior. But the earliest report that is created in the year that is on the COH page, then that report will have the initial COH. It appears from my analysis that they are confused about why COH is populated and updated in an existing report.
