There were numerous broken links found within the static content of betaFEC. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vby4jZ8_F-Bp0njr7K8ck_pAn6Av7-WJggcETaSjnWY/edit#gid=663668935

They're mainly artifacts of:

  • Relative link paths that were not changed to absolute during scraping. We need to figure out a strategy to handle these relative paths, especially when our site flips from beta.fec.gov to fec.gov, we want to make sure that they will link over correctly.
  • Malformed links
  • Broken external links
  • Link to internal dev servers
