Design options for displaying error states when endpoints are down and there are no results

What we're after

We need to design for potential error states when endpoints such as search.gov or the openFEC API are down and we cannot provide results for candidates, committees or other pages.

Need multiple states:

• No cms results, one endpoint is down
• No cms results, two endpoints are down
• Cms results, one endpoint is down
• Cms results, two endpoints are down
